Join Mike, Sam and (somewhat confusingly) Sam’s brother Michael in the studio as we talk about overcoming the family tendency to apathy in becoming an atheist activist.   Also, Mike will unveil the first ever Ask an Atheist Candidate Questionnaire, aimed at seeing how this year’s stable of candidates stack up against issues important to the Atheism Visibility Movement.

Sam should celebrate Christmas like the Japanese do in the sense of its being an erotic holiday for couples, where the “love hotels” and romantic restaurants experience full-up bookings and high turnover.
You can have all that and eat your cake, too.

Christmas is not a “holiday” in Japan. It’s a regular work day. The companies really pulled one over on the population there. They got everybody to buy presents and cakes, but didn’t even have to give up a day off in return. The Japanese do what they’re told, buy when they’re told to buy, and don’t ask for anything in return. I find it depressing, really.

Oh, and Christmas in Japan is often celebrated with a dinner from Kentucky Fried Chicken, which does Christmas packages including a cake.
